Junge-Szene-Serie “Bands im Harz” - Das Quartett “Lips & Fingertips
Akustisches von Clapton bis Flack
“Wir kannten uns eben aus der Schule” oder “Wir wollten halt alle in die gleiche musikalische Richtung” bekommt man gemeinhin auf die Frage zu hören, wie denn nun die Band entstanden sei. Daß sich vier Musiker zu einem gemeinsamen Projekt zusammentun, weil ein Autohaus einen neuen Fahrzeugtyp präsentieren möchte und dafür geeignete musikalische Untermalung sucht, gehört wohl eher in die Rubrik “ungewöhnlich”. Um so bemerkenswerter, wenn eben dieser Auftritt nach zwei Wochen fast ununterbrochenen Probens abgesagt wird - die Band war bereit zur Präsentation ihres Könnens, das neue Auto nicht. Davon ließen sich die Mitglieder besagter Formation nicht abschrecken. Susanne Michels, Götz Bornemann und Conni und Rainer Buhl - in der Harzer Szene allesamt längst keine unbeschriebenen Blätter mehr (siehe “Harlekin” oder “Crosstown Traffic”) - gaben stattdessen ihr mühevoll erarbeitetes Progeamm bei einer Hochzeit und in einer Goslarer Kneipe zum besten.
Das ausgefallene Premierenkonzert wollten die vier Musiker wenigstens in ihrem Bandnamen verewigen:”No Gig for Deipenau”. Der Titel, der schließlich aber den Vorrang bekam, dürfte wohl doch der bessere sein: “Lips and Fingertips” - der Name ist Programm. Denn mit Lippen und Fingerspitzen erzeugt die Band seit zwei Jahren Unterhaltung vom Feinsten.
Susannes rockig-rauchige Stimme und Connis eher jazziger Gesang ermöglichen dem Quartett gepaart mit den klassischen bis folkigen Akustikgitarrenklängen von Rainer und Götz eine enorme musikalische Bandbreite. Chers “Shoop Shoop Song” gehört mittlerweile ebenso zum Repertoire wie Eric Claptons “Tears in heaven” oder “Killing me softly ...” von Roberta Flack.
Eigenes Material gibt es von “Lips & Fingertips” bislang noch nicht. Das ist aber auch nicht ganz so einfach zu produzieren, denn die vier Musiker legen viel Wert auf optimale Stimmenverteilung, abwechslungsreiches Akustikgitarrenspiel und vor allem auf “Lieder, die zur Band passen”.
Streitigkeiten mit genervten Nachbarn haben “Lips & Fingertips” wohl auch in Zukunft nicht zu erwarten - ihre Musik überschreitet “unplugged” die Zimmerlautstärke nicht.
Nach wie vor kämpfen die vier aber mit den bereits erwähnten Schwierigkeiten: Mit den Auftritten will es oft nicht so recht klappen.
Beispielsweise beim Goslarer Altstadtfest mußte ihr Beitrag im Vorprogramm von “Crosstown Traffic” wegen erheblicher Probleme technischer Natur auf ganze drei Stücke gekürzt werden. Und da war er schon wieder, der Wunsch nach Umbenennung der Band - “No chance to play”. lg
